Sustainability
At Museum Hotel and Lil’a, sustainability is not merely a practice—it is an inseparable part of our philosophy of life. Inspired by the unique landscape of Cappadocia, we see it as our duty to preserve the gifts of soil, water, and culture, and to pass them on to future generations. Every detail and every gesture reflects our harmony with nature.

From Farm to Table
Every dish at Lil’a begins its journey in the fertile valleys of Cappadocia. In addition to fresh vegetables and fruits from our own gardens and fields, we cultivate ancient Alyanak wheat, buckwheat, unique valley honey, and farm eggs. Each ingredient represents the purest gift of the land, brought directly to your table.
Preserving Culinary Heritage
At Museum Hotel and Lil’a, we revive recipes of Cappadocia that are on the verge of being forgotten. We research Anatolia’s rich gastronomic heritage and reinterpret these treasures with contemporary techniques. In doing so, we ensure that the beauty of the past lives on—not only on our guests’ plates, but as a cultural legacy passed on to future generations.

Supporting the Local Community
Our supply chain begins in Uçhisar village and extends across the Cappadocia region. We collaborate with local farmers and producers, supporting their livelihood while preserving authentic practices. We also work with local artisans and artists, ensuring that Cappadocia’s cultural and artistic heritage remains alive and celebrated.
From Nature, Back to Nature: Compost & Sharing
Kitchen leftovers are transformed into natural compost, which enriches the soil in our vineyards and gardens. By-products of this process are turned into healthy pet treats, offered as a gift to the beloved companions of our guests. They are also shared with the wildlife of Cappadocia’s valleys—foxes, rabbits, partridges, and more— especially during the harsh winter months. For us, this is not only sustainability, but also a gesture of compassion towards nature.

Certified Sustainability
Museum Hotel and Lil’a proudly hold international Sustainability Certifications. With a rigorous Zero Waste and Waste Management System, we ensure that every step of our operations—from the kitchen to the guest experience—is guided by responsibility and respect for the environment.
Food Safety
Museum Hotel and Lil’a are certified with ISO 22000 Food Safety Management, ensuring that every product we serve is not only delicious, but also meets the highest standards of safety and transparency.

Energy & Water Management
We are deeply committed to conserving natural resources. Across the hotel and our agricultural areas, we use energy-efficient technologies and never practice uncontrolled irrigation. Instead, drip irrigation systems are employed to ensure that every drop of water is used responsibly—protecting Cappadocia’s most precious resource for the future.
For the Community: Indigo Foundation
Founded by the creators of Museum Hotel, the Indigo Foundation supports education, healthcare, and cultural projects in Cappadocia. For us, sustainability extends beyond nature to encompass the well-being of the community we call home.
